Cape Cod Vacation Day 1

Today, we left for our week vacation to Dennisport, where we are staying in a one room cottage, 50 yards from the beach.

Finally on the road by 9am, we have the truck jam packed with everything that we could possibly bring (of course, I forgot a few things).

We made it down to the Cape in record time, we hit about 10-15 mins of traffic.

A little bit of traffic here on the bridge, we stopped shortly after for tourist pamphlets. The kids picked out a bunch of things to do.

Our cottage for the week.

The a/c is put on, and everyone is resting while we cool off, before unloading the truck.

Olivia unloads everyones suitcase into the "1" bureau.

Lexi just relaxes while everyone else unloads the truck and gets everything put away.

Lexi still relaxing!

She decides to get her bathing suit on! The rest of us are a pool of sweat bringing everything in the cottage.

The pool is simple, but very nice! The kids play in the 3ft end and it goes up to 8ft. Lexi is finally brave enough not to use her float just her swimmies. Lexi makes friends with a girl named Erica down from Montreal and Olivia makes friends with a girl Diana who lives here for the summer.

Our back deck area, but we were too tired to enjoy it last night. I made us a pasta dinner with salad, YUMMY!

Before going to our cottage, we explored some of the towns. Here in Harwich they have a Cape Cod Bear Factory (like Build a Bear, but privately owned), the girls made a kitty and a bunny to remember their visit and have a friend while they are away from home.

This looks like one of the original Christmas Tree Shops, Pitiful!!! There was nothing to buy. Although, we did go back and buy 2 sand pails, since I forgot to pack our sand toys.

We found a lot of fun things to do throughout the week, tomorrow is a beach day, pool day and perhaps some mini golf at night. Lexi is desperate to go to the Pirate golf!
