Chinese Culture Weekend Day 1

On Friday, we packed the car up once again and headed out. This time, we were heading North to our Chinese Culture Weekend Adventure in Starksboro, VT.

First stop! Welcome to VT!
We stopped at the VT welcome center, which turned out to be very nice, with a Veteran's Memorial.
Stop 2! Ice Cream! We stopped at the Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory tour and had a taste of their newest flavor "Milk and Cookies"

Final Stop! Camp Common Ground. We arrived at about 3:30pm

This was a picture from the hill and woods looking down to the main building.

Here is our cabin for the weekend! The walls were filled with hay.
This is the collection of cabins in our area. Our friends stayed in these cabins.

We enjoyed relaxing in the rocking chairs on the porch of the main building. You could often find us here.

Or you could find us here!

The first night's meal. This is actually a picture of Ellen's plate due to me being a picky eater. The orange flower was edible.

In the early evening, the girls and some adults enjoyed learning Tai Chi.

At night we sat around the campfire and learned common songs in Chinese.

The kids got to cook up some S'Mores!
After the campfire, we used our lanterns to find our way back through the woods to our cabin.
